Resin driveway repair services
About Our Services
Resin bound stone is a popular choice for outdoor surfaces due to its porous nature and inherent flexibility. Its ability to withstand a certain level of movement is largely dependent on the quality of the base beneath it.
Enhancing Durability with Reinforcement
For longer installations, especially those laid onto concrete, we recommend using a fibreglass mesh. This reinforcement helps prevent cracks from forming over time. Additionally, it is imperative to fit expansion trims during installation. Although some may avoid them for fear of compromising aesthetics, expansion trims are essential for preventing cracks in the resin bound stone surface.
Importance of Timely Crack Repairs
Should cracks appear on your resin bound stone surface, it is crucial to address them as soon as possible. Early repairs are generally straightforward, but if cracks are left unaddressed, they can lead to more significant issues and higher repair costs in the future.
Our Crack Repair Process
To effectively repair a crack in a resin bound stone surface, we follow a meticulous process:
- Preparation: The crack is carefully chiseled open to allow for proper treatment.
- Priming: A primer is applied to the exposed area to ensure strong adhesion.
- Infill: The crack is then filled with a resin bound stone mixture that matches the existing colour and texture.
Due to the natural variations in stone batches, our expert team ensures that repairs are nearly undetectable, seamlessly integrating the fix into the existing installation.

Resin driveway repairs – UV Stable Resins
Whilst resin bound stone is a low maintenance product, there are rare occasions when additional work is required. One common reason is an imperfection in the surface where the customer seeks a low-cost solution to restore its original look. In many cases, the best approach is to undertake a patch repair.
What is a Patch Repair?
Patch repairs involve chiselling open any small cracks in the installation and filling them with fresh resin bound material to create a seamless finish. A frequent question is whether these patch repairs will be noticeable within the overall installation. The answer is not entirely straightforward.
Blending Over Time
As a general rule, patch repairs tend to blend with the rest of the surface after a few weeks. Initially, the fresh material may appear cleaner than the surrounding area, but as it settles, the appearance evens out. However, this process can take longer under certain conditions:
- Non-UV Stable Resin:
If non-UV stable resin has been used, the installation may have slightly yellowed over time due to sun exposure. As a result, it can take substantially longer for the patches to match the rest of the surface. Although the exact same stones might be used, the colour change process may require up to one year to achieve a truly seamless blend.
