Resin driveways repairs and maintenance services

What causes cracking and other problems in resin bound stone?

We always investigate the issues before coming to any conclusions and there are a number of things that may be responsible.

However, the following reasons might apply: Poorly prepared sub – base: However carefully the resin bound stone layer has been installed, a bad sub-base will not provide the stability that is required for a successful and long-lasting resin bound stone surface.

Any movement in the sub- surface will transmit through to the top layer and appear as cracks.

This can even be caused by subsidence of the ground through natural causes.

Atmospheric Conditions whilst curing: The resin is mixed on site and starts hardening straight away.

If it rains on the mixture, the chemical reaction does not produce the ideal compound.

Laying resin on a day that is too hot or failing to burn off excess moisture in the form of dew can also cause problems. Very low temperatures also interfere with the curing process
